Damages in the distribution pump system at the La Loma water treatment plant have cut off the water reaching the homes of local residents. For that reason, Drummond, through its Community Relations Department and its program to strengthen communities, has supplied this essential liquid, carrying it for three consecutive days from the district’s water treatment plant, using tank trucks, to families in neighborhoods such as 8 de Diciembre, 15 de Mayo, Costa Hermosa, Cañaguate, 8 de Abril, La Granja, and San Martín. This service will continue until there is a definitive solution to this situation affecting the people of the area.

“Drummond is always looking for ways to help us, and today they have demonstrated this by bringing water to our families,” stated Jose Luis Ospino, who lives in the neighborhood ‘8 de Diciembre.’

The Company’s support and accompaniment goes beyond just taking drinking water to families. Drummond Ltd. will make a new investment of more than 150 million pesos to buy submersible pumps and repair the La Loma water treatment plant to get it in optimal working condition. They will also donate a pump to the village of El Hatillo, in the same district, to improve the quality of life of the people who live there.

The Mayor of the town of El Paso, Hidalfo de la Cruz, stated: “We thank God, but we also are grateful to Drummond Ltd. for its availability and invaluable aid. Without its support our community of La Loma would not have water. We now have water in La Loma.”

Drummond Ltd. will always be available to help its neighbors and to work hand-in-hand with local governments to contribute to improving the quality of life of the people living near its projects.
